UBC Boathouse was always my dream wedding venue. When our May 2020 wedding was cancelled due to COVID-19, we opted for a micro wedding at the UBC Boathouse with their elopement package. Over the last few years planning both our large wedding, and then switching to a micro wedding, Amelia, Danny, and the team were so great to work with. Always quick to respond and incredibly detail oriented. The venue itself is beautiful with floor to ceiling windows with views of the water and mountains. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone seeking a wedding or event.

The UBC Boathouse is a stunning venue. Not only is it a fantastic venue for any type of event and the location is its most unique selling feature. As a fully floating facility along the Fraser River in Richmond the UBC Boathouse offers a unique view of the entire Lower Mainland, from a view of the North Shore mountains, to a you of the colorful sunsets. Inside the venue showcases wooden beamed architecture that is surrounded by large glass windows that let allows natural light to fill the space. Alongside the Beautiful venue at UBC Boathouse has an unparalleled level of customer service. The staff show a deep appreciation and care for every customer and guest that walks through the door.

Such a lovely place for a wedding! It offers a simple but elegant space with lots of room for creativity. The windows provide such a lovely view of the river and the sunset. Parking can be tricky but just be careful not to park in front of the fire hydrant! (Photos by Candice Marie Photography)

Beautiful venue. Good service. Room layout could have been thought out a lot better. It is obvious that the room was set by a team that does not take photo and video into consideration. It's a shame because the room has amazing potential for great photos. *the sound echoes and it can be very loud *windows on three sides of the main room. Very tricky for flash photography. *bouncing flash off of the brown wood ceiling creates a tanned hue to the subjects within range Suggestions for photography and videography: •Photography 101 - Never shoot in front of a window or mirror! •placing the \stage area\ in front of the wood carving wall instead of the windows. The background doesn't reflect light back towards the cameras and makes for a far more appealing look in the finished photo and video

One very popular place for weddings, the ability to have your ceremony done at the deck in a clear or sunny day I believe is what is attractive to a lot of couples. Great to catch sunsets and planes. Beautiful view of mountains and private enough. (photos by Farawayland Weddings)
