I've been donating my blood since 2003 but first time donating my blood here at Richmond Hill location. My appointment was at 7:30p.m., arrived around 7:15p.m., and had to wait outside of the clinic for around 10 minutes to get inside due to social distancing. The lady placed a thermometer tip under my tongue followed by giving me a new medical mask to put it on. In total, I had to wait another 30 minutes to wait for my turn to finally donate my blood even though I've already filled out my questionnaire prior to my appointment. The nurse and manager were both very friendly, keeping me company, definitely both helped me to calm my nerves. I never liked getting shots so it's very important for people around me to relax me in the blood donation room. I've already booked my next appointment in March at Richmond Hill and looking forward to it. Highly recommended this place and thank you for your service. Please be safe
As I have to donate on a regular basis this is the most convenient location for me to do so. Canadian Blood Services have significantly improved their "digital" capabilities - mobile app, website and in clinch / onsite systems. Booking appointments and associated prioritization at the clinic has vastly improved. Management and staff have also become more friendly and accommodating.
Really liked my experience here. The location is central and very convenient to get to with plenty of parking. The check-in process was efficient with effective sanitary protocals in place. The staff and nurses were professional, kind and did their best to make your donation experience a pleasant one. Keep up the awesome work!
The facility has been relocated to a new space in Hillcrest Mall near Goodlife Fitness. The access is only from outside the mall (back of the mall). No access from within the mall. The place is very clean have courteous staff. The process is bit slow, although it's not crowded by donors. 45min on average for the donation process (if there are only a couple of people ahead you). There are only a few nursing staff to collect blood. That's why even though collecting benches are available, donor are still waiting for the nurse/technical staff to attend them to draw blood.
I have been a loyal doner for almost 30 years and almost 100 donations. Typically the staff are very courteous and respectful. My most recent experience has been a very negative one. The lady at the reception was barking orders at everyone and just overall displaying a very rude attitude. I really hope that this is an isolated incident otherwise they will loose a very loyal doner..
Fantastic experience every time I donate at this location. In-N-Out very quick. The staff are very well trained and make donating a breeze. If you haven't donated recently, why not do it today!
First time donating during my recent visit. After reading the mixed reviews before hand I was a little hesitant going but figured every place will always have some negative experiences. Mine was great! All the staff members were warm & friendly and ensured I was feeling ok during the process. If you plan on donating, do not come on a weekend if possible as that is when the extended wait times will be, since everyone is off work. If you must go on a Saturday, as soon as they open would be best. Will definitely come back to this location in the future and hope those experiences will be just as pleasant.
