First of all they lost my luggage. Then when they found it, they didn’t send it to where I was, they sent it to an airport an hour away and I was forced to take a taxi there and back to pick it up. It has now been months of them giving me the run around regarding compensation for my out of pocket expenses and they aren’t even going to compensate me for 1/2 what I’m out. They expect me to have a receipt for the taxis i took. Who gets a taxi receipt? Ever? Especially in a country where nobody speaks English and you don’t speak their language?? I can honestly say this is the worst airline experience I’ve ever had. DO NOT FLY WITH THEM. If you don’t believe me, read other reviews. They routinely lose baggage. I would have saved money flying with a better airline in the end.

Atrocious customer service. On our flight from PVG to YVR one of our luggage was unfortunately damaged. We waited for over an hour for a CE representative to show up and once they did, they blamed us for being late and insisted that only the actual wheel was broken (see picture for obvious damage). Once they agreed on the damage to the body, they offered us 30 dollars. Which seemed a silly amount considering the cost of our luggage. It would not be that big a deal except for how exceedingly rude, unprofessional and dismissive their staff were. We also had a very difficult time reaching anyone in their head office. Would not recommend.
Doesn't even deserve one star. Terrible airline. They lost my baggage, found it, and then lost it again, before finally delivering it. Only 60 dollars compensation offered for one week of delay while in Australia. This doesn't even begin to cover incurred expenses. Some of the worst customer service I have experienced from any company - no accountability, and it is almost impossible to speak to anyone if an issue arises. Avoid at all costs.
China Eastern does NOT deserve even one star. they cancelled our flight, their staff at the airport were puzzled and overwhelmed, we werre sent to hotel over night with a bus back to the airport next day at 1pm, at the airport there was NO rep. of the airline.we called them from the information station and were told they are not responsible for us anymore and we should find our way back home. over the phone they were RUDE and hung up the phone on us several times. ZERO customer service!!!!
Terrible Customer service. They do not pickup your phone. They changed my flight to route which I needed a visa for without letting me know!
