I was excited to try their ice cream, but the chocolate dip was very VERY sweet. I ordered Earl grey flavor but I could barely taste any flavor over the sweetness. Also the ice cream was too soft and melted too quickly.

Finally a branch in Richmond. A nice little place in Steveston with cute decor. There aren't a lot of tables, so I think it's more of a walk in walk out place. Walking in, it smelled like fresh waffles. We got dipped cones and as many reviewed, they are really sweet, which I guess is meant to be eaten with the not as sweet vanilla ice cream. I was hoping it's be crispy shell, but that's not the case. Nonetheless, a good treat.

The waffles are delicious but the “signature” mocha should probably be dragged outside and let the seagulls have their way with it. They maybe rely too much on the hot chocolate portion because the coffee is weak and overall the chocolate is weak. *squawk squawk*

Well, who doesn’t love ice cream and chocolate? Cacao 70 has a great idea, but the two flavors I’ve ordered so far tasted pretty much the same just in a different color (praline and matcha) and yes, as other people are saying, they are incredibly sweet, I’m usually done with my cone about halfway, maybe they could offer a smaller and cheaper option.

Interesting concept. Dipped cones are nothing new, think DQ treats and Nestle's drumsticks. However, Cacao 70 has taken the concept to new heights by expanding the available selection of dips to appease different taste buds. Of-course, dipped cones is not the only thing on the menu. They also serve waffles and other beverages for those who have a sweet tooth. The excitement and hype of walking in to try their signature dipped cone wore off quickly with the first bite. The anticipated bite that should crack the hardened dip to offer crunchiness to an otherwise soft-serve ice cream was instead met with a thick and soft burst of sweet that had not hardened. Left to wait, staring at my ice cream with drool running down my shirt, while the dip slowly hardened was not an enjoyable time. Even after a significant amount of time, the dip never truly hardened to a crunch or snap. Having only tried the Earl Grey dip, I can only comment on the Earl Grey which was far too sweet, like cheap chocolate with too much sugar and not enough cacao - ironic given the name of this place. The vanilla ice cream was soft and creamy which was nice, but the star of the show was sorely lacking. Recommendation to tone down the sweetness by about half and at least double to triple the amount of Earl Grey to strengthen the flavour and aroma. Earl Grey lovers want Earl Grey, not sugar.

Most definitely not in business anymore. Store is completely stripped clean with a "For Lease" Sign in the window. Dear Google: Maybe change the status of this business to "Permanently Closed."

While the cones were aesthetically pleasing, they did get quite sickening after a while. They are very sweet and enjoyable for the first few bites but unsettled the stomachs afterward with its rich sweetness.

Ok so I LOVE ice cream! Between dairy queen, mcdonalds, costco, ikea, milk cow, and 720 sweets, I would have to say this has the best soft serve! In terms of flavors, I like the Earl Grey one... Make sure that after you get your cone dipped, wait like 3-4min for the chocolate to harden! It's not too expensive which is great. I think it's around 5.50 for a dipped cone. It's not too small so you could share just one between two people, or if you're a pig like me, get one each!
