Confirmed everything yesterday and I spent lots of money and time on preparing stuff for the cat I registered which they asked me to prepare(including the appointment of vet ). But when I got there to pick up in the next day , I was rejected by really contradictory questions. I really understand that you are considering about the pet and what to give them a stable future. But plzzzzzz reject me at the first day I came if I can’t adopt instead of confirmed everything with me and reject me till the pick up day. Different days ,different staff , same questions, same answers ,different results. Does that means adopt or not depends on staffs’ personal feelings? I really don’t like to give anyone 1star-rate but this made me really upset.
I had a bad experience. I’ve rescued strays and fostered for the bcspca in burnaby. I drove 30 minutes to this shelter to see a kitten. I told the staff when I arrived I was interested in that kitten. They said they’d get me an application. I waited almost 30 minutes, holding the cat. During that 30 minutes, they gave the cat away. Then they told me they consider all applications and it’s not first come and first serve. So fill out an application and they will consider it. So I filled out an application, walked to the counter. They then told me they were not accepting applications for the kitten. Not sure why they had just told me they would consider my application. I was really vibing with the cat. I am really bummed out. They said they’d keep my application on file. Right. I think they just didn’t like me or something.
I have to agree with Yishi Wei on this. My husband and I had a very similar experience with this branch. First our application was approved, then when we were going to pick up the girls, we were told we had been rejected and given a bunch of nonsense reasons , which if had been asked would have been known. If this person knew what kind of people we are and what kind of home our current girls have, this never would have unfortunately have happened. But she did not try to find out for herself which she should have before making the final decision.
There were only Guinea pigs, rats, a hamster and a gerbil for adoption when I went a few days ago. The staff and volunteer were super helpful and friendly. The animals are very well taken care of and the facility was clean.
