Authentic Japanese Izakaya (Japanese Pub). It's like being in Japan for a great quality meal. The freshness and tastes are definitely at the rendezvous. The hole place is originally decorated entirely with 2x4 wood pieces. The staff is friendly and knows the menu well. A very good place for tasty bites and drinks. Very easy to share menu (actually I suggest sharing everything) This is not a tourist trap !

I had the Hono bol which promised 2 skewers (chef's choice), but as you can see, I was served a half of avocado instead. There is a lot of ingredients going on here which kinda makes it overwhelming and confusing. Quail eggs, pickled radish and ginger, wakame, chopped white nappas....a weird mix. The salmon tataki was not really fresh and was on the plain side. However, the pork skewer and chicken karage (2 pieces) really shined here. Rice was also good. Overall, disappointed by the \false\ advertisement of 2 skewers while also being quite pricy (22).
The best Japanese food in town. A delightful experience. My favorite tapas are the vegetarian Okonomiyaki, Karaage chicken and \oeufs de cailles \.
Hono Izakaya is like an oasis of fine dining just outside the center of Quebec (you would miss it if you stuck to the tourist track.) You can feel the love in each dish; meats that melt in the mouth, delicate and complex broths, enchanting presentations, and reasonably priced! The servers are well versed in the cuisine and take the time to make sure that every guest is fully satiated. This is a restaurant you won’t forget.
Great service, a perfect way to make a special occasion out of an ordinary evening during the pandemic.
