Absolutely, hands down, best private marine mechanic in all of Vancouver Island. Had a Searay which needed repowering. Pro power not only repowered it but made the boat functional for our needs. This guy knows what he's doing. Amazing knowledgable mechanic.

A huge thank you to Dave and his assistant for their work on my 2004 Land Rover Discovery. I originally brought my LR into Pro-Power with the infamous “tick tick” of a slipped cylinder sleeve. The repair work required a total engine tear down/rebuild. Despite several setbacks as a result of sketchy repair jobs done by the previous owner, the work was still able to be completed at a high standard and on budget. After the initial rebuild, a couple parts related defects came up. After a quick email to Dave, he was able to correct these faults in a timely manner with no questions asked. Several months after the initial rebuild, the LR is going strong. I would highly recommend Pro-Power Engine & Machine for any major engine machining/repair.

Had Propower in Saanich rebuild my old GM 4-bolt main 350 block. When it come to the cylinder heads, he told me that the heads I provided were no good for the build since the ports were too big. Then mentioned he had some GM 441 head cores kicking around the machine shop he would sell me for the engine. I agreed. Well I ended up pulling one of the valve covers to check the casting numbers and discovered they're not 441 heads like he told me they were. They're GM 416 heads from a 305 engine. I should of checked right fresh from the shop upon pickup.

I can only say STAY AWAY from PRO POWER. This company is unorganized, unprofessional and refuses to stand behind their product. They cannot even produce a receipt for a motor in which he built for a 5 digit cost. If you care about your vehicle in any way shape or form do yourself a favour and go see a real professional. These guys have done it to others before and they will do again.
