I have dealt with Dana and Thunder Bay Saw Shop for quite some time now, both for personal and business applications. They are always personal but still professional, always doing what is promised, and always fair. I call them, they follow through, and I don't have to chase them around to find out what is going on. This is the sort of local business that is all too rare these days and I would recommend them to anyone needing reliable equipment and honest follow up service.

Thunder Bay Saw Shop Husqvana dealer Servicing rider mower I recently took my Craftsman rider mower in for service at Thunder Bay Saw Shop for service. I have had both car and mowers previously serviced by a number of reputable outlets and without fail they called to advise if the cost of repairs became significant and asked if I wanted specific repairs performed. Not so with this outfit. When I arrived to pay for this service, expecting a reasonable cost I was shocked to be presented with a bill for 395.84 (plus an agreed pick-up charge of 60.00 - Total 455.84) Now I suppose it is possible that everything on a well serviced rider mower needing replacing with new parts at the same time - 3 filters - spark plugs, blades and that it would take expert mechanics 3 hours to do the 'repairs' but I would have expected a call to see if I wanted to spend almost 400 on service. To me 'service' is not a blanket request to replace anything that the mechanic feels like replacing. It would have taken 2 minutes to advise me of the cost and to let me decide. I have learned however that it is necessary to formalize the process and insist that before any work is done I be advised of the cost. This is not a repair shop I would recommend or use again.
