Service was great and friendly, food came out fast and it was delicious. The portions were good, but the prices were on the higher end. That said, it seems to be the avg up in these parts of the island and the food quality didn't make me feel like I was cheated. Easy and streamlined COVID precautions in place and an engaging staff made this a solid experience for my wife and I.

My husband and I have eaten at restaurants all over the world and we are especially fussy seafood eaters. But, since we were in the beautiful seaside village of Port McNeil on business in October 2020, we decided to give Archipelagos Bistro and try and ordered their mussels for our appetizer. WOW!! They were steamed in a tomato and red wine broth. Plump and deliciously rich. There are not enough stars for this dish! 10 for a whole pound - such a great value. With their homemade bread, that was honestly a meal in itself and we probably should have stopped there but we didn't... We followed with pasta: bacon mac and cheese for him; creamy Coquille St. Jacques sauce on my linguine. Huge portions. Perfection. Their pasta dishes come with a side salad and even that was notably fresh and colourful with little extras like some seeds, sprouts and dried cranberries. Our server was bubbly and attentive. Covid protocols were followed. We were sad to be the only table in the main dining room, however, it was a Monday night so probably understandable. The next time we're in Port McNeill we are definitely looking forward to revisiting Archipelagos Bistro!

What a gem, in Port McNeil, that deserves a shout out for wonderful cuisine, friendly service and great views! One wonders how this hidden treasure will survive if word doesn't get out about how good the food is here. I loved my steak/pomme frits so much I practically needed two napkins to catch the mouth-watering that ensued!
We stayed a couple of days in an resort close to Port McNeill, so we tested the 3 supposedly best restaurants in town: The Archipelagos Bistro, the Northern Lights and the Sportsman's Steak and Pizza House. I take the liberty to write the identical review for all 3. All three restaurants are alright, you don't do a mistake if you go there. Anyway, from our point of view there is a quite clear ranking: #3 is Sportsman's Steak and Pizza. It's pretty good, the steaks are alright, a place to feel good and relax. Try the Mango Daiquiri :-) Nice views, too. #2 is Northern Lights. A little better and a little more upscale. The menu is a bit Italian inspired, the food is very good. Undisputed #1 is the Archipelagos Bistro: Lots of French and Italian dishes like Osso Buco or Foie Gras, which are even hard to get in European restaurants. Everything possible is home made, even the fried pickles we got as starter were pickled by themself. Highly recommended.
Food is awesome, great tasting and service is very good too.
Best breakfast and brunch spot in town. The delicious eggs benny are my go to, definitely recommend for weekend brunch.
Unbelievable selection & quality of food !!! I'll say, @ par with Il Terrazzo in Victoria. If you are up Island, definitely worth a visit. Very friendly staff who are trying very hard. Compliments
