Nice log cabin. In COVID times must stay outside except for warming up, limits to number of people apply, usually 1 household. There were 3 pic nik tables outside. In normal times this a nice cabin to visit for a get together.

I do at least one moonlight snowshoeing or XC skiing trip to Herridge shelter every year. On a nice full moon night, Herridge Shelter could become very crowded by 6 pm (but usually not as full as Healey). According to NCC rules: (a) No hiking is allowed on the winter trails to/from both shelters. (b) The snowshoeing (and fat-bike) route starts at parking lot P15 at Cross Loop Road & goes up to Herridge via Trail #70 (c) The XC Skiing route starts at P16 at Chemin Pine (about 1 km east of P15) via Trail #50 I also enjoy running to Herridge in the summer/fall and often take a rest and have a quick snack there. Wildlife is abundant around the shelter. So stay quiet and enjoy the beautiful environment. Please note there will be biting insects, esp around swampy areas. So be prepared.

Walked here this weekend. Was a great place to stop for a drink and snack. There is a wooden stove which a family started during our visit. There is lots of table space for people over 2 floors in this wonderful wooden cabin. Outside, there is also a bird feeder attracting a wide variety of birds to watch.

This is my favourite shelter in the park, especially in winter. Two floors and always a table.
