I use to be a franchisee. Worst experience of my life until I went independent. Thank god I was able to get out of the horrid mess. The leadership, mentoring and branding management was laughable to say the least. Last I was privy to, in a conference call with all the Canadian franchisee owners and the planet beach CEO from the US, the so called franchise western Canadian owner went MIA leaving us all here in western Canada with nothing. I have to post 1 star because if I don't it won't let me post my comment. I would prefer to post no stars..... or rather negative stars. WORST FRANCHISE EVER.

Planet Beach is certainly NO spa. Very disappointed, will NEVER recommend. I had a Spa Finder gift card of 50. to use so I searched up businesses in my local area of Sherwood Park. Planet Beach may be okay for tanning, but for spa services it is a joke. The massage services offered were a chair massage, or a lay down bed type that is called the Slim Capsule. It reminded me of a tanning bed that pumped in steam and had infra red lighting. The massage part was that the bed piece you laid on vibrated. It didn't target areas or roll massage. I could have got the same sensation by lying in the back of a pickup going down a gravel road. The vibrations made my teeth chatter. To top it off the gift card I had was for 50, but the services available to purchase using the Spa finder card are all priced at 40. I could not use the 10 dollars towards any other service or product. And they can not give change back on the gift cards. Basically giving the 10 to Planet Beach. This is not a SPA business, and the administration of the Spa finder cards is unfair.
Dealiing with the staff at this location has been nightmarish and heinous. My account was double charged, for several months. I sent an email, notifying management my intent to terminate membership. My account was still charged. I have tried to talk with Sarah, the manager. Who's people skills are abhorrent. I have talked with their accouting dept, they dont even know what I have paid. How is that lack of knowledge even possible? I have asked to talk with the owner. The jolting response from the owner to staff, that was conveyed to me "I dont speak to customers, my manager does". My intent is to fight this lack of customer concern and disregard to the fullest. The total torpor for my problem is unbelievable. Not only would I not recommend this place of business. I would CAUTION anyone concidering using them. I would encourage responses back to me, so we can possible go after this on a larger scale. Their contemptuouos, derisory regard for customers is astonishing. Madison North

I think maybe its a trend, i went to the one on jasper ave the beds were terrible and expensive not even a little bit of a tan. And bad service! Ill never go to another planet Beach!!!
