This location is glorious. The surroundings are incredibly beautiful and the host goes above and beyond to accommodate. The inn itself is charming and exactly as offered and much of the inn has been newly renovated/ updated . If you are looking for a true unplugged vacation to enjoy Prince Edward County, look no further. Close to wineries and lovely restaurants this is an absolute gem. Danielle is absolutely wonderful and she makes every stay worth it's weight in gold. Highly recommend Backcountry Inn and hostel if you are looking for affordable, rustic charm and a genuinely relaxing getaway.

I've stayed at the Backcountry Inn & Hostel several times. Danielle is a great host! Most of the amenities are self serve which I appreciate as I just need a place to stay when I'm in the county. It's nice to be without internet access and get good nights sleep when I'm in the area for training courses. I usually opt for the private rooms upstairs. The rooms are nothing fancy, but it's as good as any motel, clean and safe. Danielle always make my colleagues and I feel welcome. I've seen several iterations of the rooms as there have been changes and upgrades over time, they are always working on improvements. I will continue to book with Backcountry Inn & Hostel when I'm in Prince Edward county.
Fantastic place to get away and enjoy nature to its fullest. Amazing hosts who are beyond gracious and welcoming. Any negative reviews are from young punks who broke the rules and lied to get the place booked for a party. This isn't a frat house, it's a respectable lodging for respectable people.
No wifi, constant supervision of the host, Missing running water and electricity on the 3rd night of our stay. Has no amenities other than a Japanese-French translation book. I've ran into better hostels in 3rd world countries such as Costa-Rica.
