We came in for an afternoon meal the other day and were heavily disappointed with the service and the placement of seating. We were told we would be sitting in a *COVERED PATIO* and then were told if somebody moved from the heated section and we asked before anybody else did, we would be moved. So basically we were warned that we were given the short end of the stick for our table and that is NOT OKAY for a restaurant to do to a customer. Every business that works in customer service should provide the utmost best service and should really care about their customers and be aware of what is going on at all times. We were then led to a seat that was directly beside an OPEN PATIO with WIND blaring and WATER everywhere and NO HEATERS to be found anywhere near us. We looked beside us to 4 pairs of customers sitting in comfortable booths tucked away from the wind with a personal heater at each table. The people who sat behind us were huddling together with their winter jackets just like us. My partner and I could not last even 10 minutes without being unbearably cold(IT IS FEBRUARY) and walked out, not that anyone had come to check up on us or collect our orders anyway. I later phoned the manager to let her know this service was horrid and she blamed it on \hard times\ which is not a valid excuse since your company decided to open their restaurants to the extent of the covid restrictions and should be able to handle them properly. It is a clear reflection of bad restaurant service when the person that sat us knew it was not a sufficient seat and warned us upon seating us and the manager denies responsibility for the poor service to an extremely unhappy customer (with good reason.)I suggest the owner review the company standards and customer service statements with the staff before things open up fully.

Review is a few months late, but back in October we had a great visit. Friendly and efficient service. We all had the shrimp tacos, not our first time, and didn't disappoint as usual.
As always Moxies service was top notch. Terribly disappointed that the vegetarian tacos have been taken off the menu. While I understand limiting the menu during covid, taking vegetarian options off an already limited amount doesn’t make sense. The tofu lettuce wraps left a lot to be desired, & though I didn’t want to I sent them back as the ginger was overwhelming, & the fresh vegetables were scarce. The nachos I ordered instead was a completely inadequate dinner, but it is what it is. Great service by Hilary though, & I know they’re doing the best they can under the circumstances.
I've been here a few times and overall have had good experiences. The food is tasty and the ambience is amazing! The staff has usually always been friendly, though I had a run-in with a rude employee ONCE and it was a while ago. I also think if we had complained that management wouldn't have hesitated to accommodate us, given how frequently he checked in on us. It's a great place to come for drinks with friends or just watch the game at the bar. Worth the visit!
To begin, Moxie's Pickering will make your dining in experience feel extremely comfortable. Everything is clean, sanitized and they have come up with a contactless way to both order and pay. I ordered the Lemon Basil Salmon. The most perfectly cooked salmon arrived and was accompanied by delicious grains and veggies. It was the best I ever had! My mum ordered the Salmon & Avocado Cobb Salad. A lovely presented dish arrived, everything was cooked to perfection and it had the most delicious dressing I have ever tasted! Highly recommend these two dishes.
