I have never left a google review before. I was so underwhelmed with my experience I wanted to share in hopes nobody else would share my experience Maybe my fault. We order the “I can’t decide platter.” Based on the price and description we assumed that this would be plenty of food for 2 people. It came with 2 pieces of brisket( about the size of a bacon slice each) as well as 3 chicken wings, 1/2 a sausage and a hand full of fries. The brisket we felt was a little dry. The chicken wings were a little tough. The sausage and fries were good. The platter wasn’t horrible, but I feel we were so underwhelmed with the size of the portion we had a sour taste in our mouths before we had even taken a bite. The ribs were pretty decent. Really nothing to complain about, they were neither the best or worst we’ve ever had. Our bill totalled 70. During the pandemic we have been trying to support independent local business. Our issue wasn’t based solely on the price. It was more the fact at just how little we got for our money. We were actually still hungry and ended up ordering off skip the dishes 2 hours later. Long story short, we really felt that the quality and quantity of what we received didn’t match the value in which Dr j’s placed on their dish. This will probably be our last experience unfortunately.

Really good food and prices are great. Only thing is portions are extremely small so if you are hungry plan on buying multiple plates.

Awesome smokehouse food! Chilled atmosphere. I recommend beef and pork dishes and the wings - mmm!!! The smoked beet salad and mac 'n' cheese are amazing! Quasi sportsbar mood. I wish they offered live music more often - weekly Saturday matinees would be great! Definitely going back and often!

Ribs were good... wings were tough... if you make arrangements for substitution make sure you check before you pay! Owner had no care I didn't get my proper order when I called from the parking lot! Way over rated and over priced! Will not be back.

Really nice, authentic slow cooked and smoked BBQ. I had the sampler with Ribs, Brisket and pulled pork. Nice, deep smoky flavours, and pretty good service. 4 stars instead of 5 because the ribs and brisket both had really nice texture, but were both under seasoned to my tastes, but I'll definitely be back. The slaw, beans and cornbread were all excellent too (had to have a bite of the cornbread before I took the pic)

Perfect Wedding Catering! Ted, Aj, and his team made my wedding day in September 2020 a dream come true. They were such a pleasure to deal with. I am still getting compliments on the food and them to this day. I cannot thank them enough for make everything so smooth and easy

Excellent BBQ Brisket sandwich on Rye. Nice staff. Great BBQ spot in PTBO. Unfortunately (or not) only serving beer but likely a pandemic thing. Strongly recommend. Keep up the great work.
