Peretz Centre offers a variety of venues and amenities suitable for celebrations, concerts, workshops, conferences, classes and more. Learn More Our Story Founded in 1945, the Peretz Centre is a community of both Jewish and non-Jewish individuals and families interested in deepening their understanding of, and connection to, Jewish culture, values, and traditions. We provide an alternative, secular humanist approach to Jewish life through the appreciation of Jewish history and culture within the context of world history, and through the celebration of Jewish traditions. Our doors are open to people of diverse cultures, beliefs, genders and sexual orientation. At the Peretz Centre we realize the lessons of Jewish history through our heritage of Yiddish values and culture –the heart of East-Central European and early North American Jewish life– while recognizing modern Hebrew as the language of Israel. All our gatherings are inclusive and are conducted in English, with the addition of Yiddish and Hebrew texts.
