I was woken up by my dog barking and hearing voices outside my window, when I looked outside there was a man on my roof. I asked them what they were doing and they said they were here for Penfolds doing a courtesy inspection on roofs previously done by the company. They said I should have gotten an email notice of the inspection and that they knocked on the door but no one answered.The person who got Penfolds to do the roof, and the person they contacted, no longer lives in this house and despite not being able to contact the owner of the residence, these men, in an unmarked non Penfolds car, helped themselves to my roof. I had to call the company to confirm that these men were supposed to be here. I personally think that if the person does not answer the door the inspectors should leave a notice of attempt at the door and get the resident to reschedule, not help themselves to my house. While they were up there I could hear the hammering and doing something, but when they were done they just left, they did not tell me what exactly they did and I have no idea why they were up there for so long. Although the work done previously was good (I am assuming, because I haven't had any issues with it), this was not a comfortable situation to be in and I feel like its not good business practice.

When you hire someone to walk onto peoples properties to deliver your ads, you really should stress to them that they're representing you and when they walk over lawns / through gardens because they're too lazy to walk up and down driveways, that's the wrong kind of advertising.
I must say that I was shocked at the troubles we had with Penfolds on such a small and simple job. There were several things that we had issues with. First, the roofers put the vents on the wrong side of the roof. Not sure why any roofer in their right mind would put them on the side of the roof that you can see,they always go on the rear of the house. They left their bin blocking our driveway for a week. Two of the roofers ask to use our washroom,when it clearly states in their covid19 policy that under no circumstances that they will not enter the home. They forgot the head flashing, and after I called and they finally came to install it and when they came ,they show up without a ladder. What roofing company comes to a job site without a ladder. I would never recommend or use Penfolds again. They talk about how great they are on cknw, but in my opinion there are too many people with titles at that company. They need to restructure their staff and clean house. The quality control has been lost. Try a different roofing company. I believe you will be better off.
I would highly recommend the team at Penfolds Roofing. Shaun Mayhew and team have always exceeded my expectations in our past dealings.
Your excptional roof inspector did a quick analysis of a damp spot on the ceiling and provided me with information and understandings that brought both peace of mind and renewed confidence in your company and the work that they did in installing a new roof some years ago. I appreciate the extent of their efforts both inside and outside the house and the quality of the insight they were able to afford me. Thank you.
