I undertook the Sail Canada Intermediate Cruising Course with Frank. It was an extremely enjoyable 5 days aboard Compass Rose X exploring the lesser known bays and anchorages of eastern Georgian Bay. Compass Rose X is extremely clean, well equipped and well maintained. She is the ideal boat for an on water classroom setting. Frank is a patient, professional instructor and a true subject knowledge expert who will challenge you throughout the entire duration of the course. Aside from being a great instructor, Frank is also an excellent host who is committed to the safety and comfort of his students. Without any hesitation, I highly and confidently recommend Frank and Adventure Sailing. You’ll gain a wealth of knowledge and your smile will continue ashore for days afterwards.

I recently completed the five day, live aboard Intermediate Coastal Cruising Standard with Frank. I was beyond nervous the first day, but instantly put at ease when I met Frank. He is warm and welcoming, and makes you feel at home right away on board Compass Rose X. It is a beautiful, well kept, updated and very clean yacht, and a joy to sail! Frank is extremely knowledgeable, and an excellent teacher. He can sense when a little extra guidance is needed by the student, and provides just the right amount of encouragement and help, while still pushing you to learn new skills. My confidence in my sailing ability has grown, and I certainly feel like I now have the skills and knowledge needed to safely charter a small sailboat and venture out on my own to some degree. The meals were wonderful. I am a vegan, and was just blown away by the plentitude of fresh fruits and veggies, and the time and thought put into accommodating my plant based diet. It was very appreciated. And Dawn made the best fellow chef, I enjoyed our chats and time preparing the meals! If I could offer some suggestions for future students. Please come prepared. It is unfair to both Frank and the other students to arrive without having completed your readings, and really having a good understanding of what is in the course material. You will have a much better experience and will get so much out of the course if you prepare ahead of time! Highly recommend Frank, and if you are at all hesitating, don't! Just do it. Georgian Bay is a great place to learn, I'm so happy I made the decision to stay here and learn instead of heading south. Georgian Bay is a great place to practice piloting and navigation. Don't worry, he won't let you hit anything! Thanks, Frank! Nancy Robertson

Frank (and Ray) are great sailing instructors who really know how to make learning to sail fun, challenging and a great success. I have trained with Frank through the Great Lakes and in the Caribbean. With Adventure Sailing Plus, you can't help but learn how to sail and have a wonderful time while doing so! Best sailing value around as far as I and my wife are concerned. Check out his videos...especially of the Bubbly Pool in Jost Van Dyke, BVI. It is so much fun down there.

Frank has a relaxed but concise teaching style that blends well with the crusing life style and focused learning. You will feel like you have been on holiday and that you have learned both skills and knowledge. We had a great week thank you. We hope to do it again in the future.

Frank Baron teaches an excellent Intermediate Cruising Standard Live Aboard course. Plus he is a great cook! He has a lovely 45 foot Jenneau yacht which we learned to navigate through the hazards of southern Georgian Bay. I feel well prepared for the next adventure of chartering a boat.
