A century-old hunting cottage converted into an English-style pub retaining much of its original decor and beauty. Featuring a bar “snug,” socially-distanced seating where you can enjoy ocean views and a wood-burning fireplace. Solid pub fare featuring higher-end prices justified by generous portions. There are a few vegan options you won’t find at most pubs (“fisch” and chips) and the menu lays out options for gluten-free and vegetarian.

My husband and I went for a drive today. We decided to stop for lunch at the Black Goose. The items on the menu were quite high priced but I rationalized that the food must be good if they were charging that much. I had a prime beef burger and my husband had 1 piece of halibut and chips. The burger kept slipping out of the bun, the garlic in the meat was so strong it was off-putting. The halibut was dry and the batter came off off the fish, making it difficult to eat the fish and batter in one bite. We don't have oodles of money and we rarely eat out. Today was supposed to be a treat. With 2 soft drinks and the two dishes of mediocre food the bill came to 60.90 before the tip. It is hard to support the local restaurants if that is the kind of poor quality we are can expect. I do not recommend anyone eat at this place, maybe go for a drink if you have to go to a pub but don't order any food!!!

The location is nice, near the water. Trying to copy the style of an old English Pub. But .... the food is dreadful and way over priced! Honestly, we could have gone out shopping and made ourselves 3 gourmet meals for that price. Instead we wanted to go out for the evening and enjoy a well prepared meal. Not so much.. Gave it 1 star for the beer and the waitress who tried to do her best.

We had a wonderful meal here today. I had the Steak and Stilton Pie. My husband had the Shepherd's Pie. So delicious. The staff were warm and friendly. All the safety protocols went above and beyond. Well done everyone!

Our waitress was fantastic. However their food menu did not match their websites. Food was way over price for what you got and taste. Was not like it use to be. Not sure if they have new owners. Overall very bad and it is not worth a visit.
