It was my first halwa puri breakfast experience at Pak Center. They only serve this menu item on weekends and only between 9am to 1pm. One plater costs 4.99 tax that comes with a couple of puris. Extra puri is 1.2 each As shown in the picture, the plate contains halwa, chana, sabzi, and pickles. The good: It’s fresh and tastes very good. Not too oily More than enough for one person The tea was great (doodh patti) with the option of sugar vs sweetner Total bill for 5 platers 2 extra puris 2 tea was about 45 The bad: The service can be improved in terms of taking orders (it looked under staffed that day, so perhaps the service was slow for that reason)
Pak Centre Halal serves halal Pakistani cuisine. I’m from India, and weirdly India and Pakistan have super similar cuisines. We went as one huge family on Family day- so I expected a bit of a crowd. But thankfully we got space almost immediately. They have a good buffet going on- so look into those options before you decide. We opted for A la carte. We started of with the Fries, Chicken Tikka, and Malai Chicken. I preferred the Tikka over the malai- a bit more spicy is my taste. For mains we ordered Briyani, Naan, Vegetable Korma , Chicken curry. The chicken curry was really good, and we finished that off in a zap. The vegetable Korma had a lot of veggies. Naan seems freshly made- in store. I found the Briyani a little bland for my tastebuds. And weirdly- it’s served with green chutney and not Raita (the indian way of serving Briyani). One of the kids ordered a Chicken Tikka roll and we packed it up- raw onions and pretty huge. So in a sentence- Pakistani Cuisine and Indian seem super similar. Would I come back to Pak Centre ? Prolly not. Unlike everyone’s opinion of the service here- I found it pretty decent. And parking is right outside! We paid 81 CAD for a group of 7 adults 2 kids.
The restaurant is spacious, many places to sit. The service seems hit and miss. The food was tasty, the salad had weathered lettuce and hair, pictured. The food was nice and the naan was good. While there a woman came to collect the order she placed online but they didn't have something she requested and they didn't tell her. She came and wasn't pleasantly surprised. Keep it in mind if you order from them!
Fresh food with the right blend of spices. Reasonably priced as well.
