I am so impressed with Dr. Lee and the Retina Centre, the expertise of Dr. Lee and the overall level of patient care. A problem with my retina was identified and the very next day, Dr. Lee made time for me and repaired something that could have led to something significantly more serious and potentially life changing. My brother is patient of Dr. Lee since the beginning of 2018 with a major complication with multiple tears and detachments of the retina in his eye. Dr. Lee has been nothing but profressional, but extremely friendly and informative on what is happening with my brother's eye. Yes the wait times use to be very long, but the last three visits we had been in and out in no time at all. This is expected when emergencies takes precedence, but to be seen by the best in this field, that is part of the course. The staff are always polite and accommodating.
Thi is a review of the Centre, not of any individual doctor. The centre is very well organized -- from the initial reception, through to the post-visit checkout everything is organized electronically. There are a lot of patients, so a visit can take a while. Sometimes, the ophthalmologist you are supposed to see may be delayed by an operating room emergency, so be prepared to be patient. The staff are very competent, friendly and helpful.The parking lot can fill up, but there is a large lot next door.
Dr. McLaughlin, his staff and the team at The Retina Centre are superb. I was fully confident in my care and appreciated their professionalism, responsiveness and efficiency. Dr. McLaughlin is a brilliant, caring physician and I had an excellent outcome from my surgery. We are fortunate to have such talent in Ottawa. Thank you, Dr. McLaughlin and team!
