Local distillery with some interesting products. It's still a relatively new operation, so some products that mature sooner (such as their gin - nice and herbal and floral and interesting) I preferred over others (rum didn't quite have that mellow, smooth drinking feel you expect from top shelf rum) but give it time. They're clearly excited about what they're doing and should only improve.

I don’t know ANYTHING about liquor, but the tour was great and very engaging. I’m pulled my for these guys. Buy local?
I had organized a group Feb 2016 using groupon to do a tour of the North of 7 distillery. Jody is one of the co-owners and he was refreshing about they did not know what they were getting into and it was a lot of trial and test and sample lol... Greg the other co-owner when queried mentioned some of the challenges running a craft distillery in Ontario. I had looked into a document on LCBO markup which is high even on federal excise tax so tax on tax with only a small portion going to the distillery. The then 22 month white dog aging into Canadian whiskey should a lot of promise. We organized a return trip for June 2017 and sampled some new products such as the Canadian whisky, 57% rum and spiced rum as well as the white dog, gin, vodka and regular run. My favourite surprisingly was the 57% rum which considering I am not a rum tippler as the norm except for the very occasional rum and coke or cocktails. The tour is a nice way to spend an hour, find out more about distilling and sample some very good craft products. I have bought the Gin and the 57% rum for myself and a bottle of Canadian whiskey from the 2nd barrel as a gift...
I can't speak to the quality or taste of their products as they are definitely not my area of expertise, but I do feel compelled to share that our tour guide, one of the co-owners, was very interesting to listen to, not to mention a whole lot of fun for us. I was there with a group of friends for a bachelor party and our very welcoming guide made sure we had an informative and lightheartedly entertaining time. His wit and character will not soon be forgotten. As a fan of localism and one who always roots for independent underdogs competing with privileged corporations, I may be a little biased here, but I strongly recommend these guys for your next group event. And while there, try their products - they might be good, too.
Bought a groupon for a tour and tasting; with 6 tastings and a shot glass included it was excellent value. The tour was informative and the guy knows his stuff, including all the science behind the process, however it could have been presented in a more accessible way. Having toured a few distilleries in Scotland and Ireland, I have a basic understanding of whisky making, however I found this tour hard to understand. The enthusiasm is there, it maybe just needs to be dumbed down a bit for people to understand what makes North of 7 different from other distilleries. Also having 6 tastings before the tour made it even harder to follow; maybe consider doing the tastings after the tour. Overall it was informative and good value.
