Donated blood for the first time ever here and had a great experience. The staff were all welcoming and really helpful in answering any questions I had. The nurse who collected my blood was a joy to talk to and made the experience much better. I would definitely come back here again to donate.

The staff here are mostly fantastic, but there were a few times of confusion from miscommunication, especially as a first-time donor. Took longer than I expected it to take, almost an hour and a half, but it was pretty painless.
Super friendly and attentive staff. I've done all my donations here and will continue to do so.
My appointment was at 2:10 and I waited 45 minutes to give my blood. 1-)Organization problem. 2-)Not busy and still too slow. 3-) I will keep donating blood but not at this location.
Terribly rude staff. I have provided 100's of ratings before and this will be the first time only that I have left a 1 star. The staff is extremely harsh and rude even before you open the door. Instead of stating "Hi thanks for coming in today, would you mind waiting here", you get yelled at "you not allowed there, didn't you read the sign". If my employer had treated me so poorly I would have filed a complaint. Canadian blood services should look at their employees at Oshawa Taunton if they want to keep their regular donors. If I ever donate again it won't be at this location.
Very friendly staff and Hats off for keeping it very safe during covid time
I have been a consistent donor since before this organization took over. (29 donations with CBS)...but today was my last. I arranged an appointment, showed up early and did all the pre-screening (covid 19). I sat down and read the pamphlet which recommended I drink a quantity of water. I went to their "cookie" section and requested a small bottle of water, which was provided. This day was the first day of mandatory masks for indoor areas...so I was wearing a mask. At this stage of the process I am in the post screening area awaiting a free table to give blood. I am the SOLE person in the area, no staff, no donors, I am sitting right next to the "post donation" cookie and juice area (maybe 10 ft.). I pull my mask off my nose and mouth and take a quick sip and immediately replace my mask. In the brief period of time it took to have a Sip (as per their recommendation) a staff member in a very brusque and abrupt manner told me it is not allowed to drink here due to the mask rules, I replied I was doing what recommended. I was then told/ asked if i would stop drinking. I replied " I certainly will".. and then I left....no donation!! I drove 20 minutes x 2 to literally give blood. I was in a great mood until then but to be so completely disrespected while trying to help turned me off the day. She could have said calmly, you can't drink here....but move over there (10 ft away) would be fine...or you shouldn't remove your mask here, but since you are alone, please don't and move over to the cookie section....or just about ANY thing besides a swaggering confrontational order. For an organization that relies entirely on the good nature of persons to donate may want to treat donors as valued partners, not dangerous intruders.
I went in there to donate blood and informed the lady assigned to me that I have a strong fear of needles. she talked me through it another employee came to distract me while the needle was inserted and overall they were just the sweetest most considerate people and I'm definitely going back when I'm eligible again
