Part of the reason we moved to Oliver is because there is a hospital here. You just never know when you will need one. 7 years later, I really needed this hospital and they were there for me. Always clean.

Attended Oliver Hospital ER recently by ambulance with a medical emergency. Sadly the staff on duty were completely lacking in triage skills and behaved with a callous indifference to my care. There was a two hour wait to see the only doctor. The ER are appeared quite and only one other patient in sight. Fortunately my wife drove me to Pentiction Hosital where I was triaged and immediately seen by friendly and efficient staff within minutes including the ER doctor. A surgical procedure was performed with complete relief of my presentation. The nursing staff at Oliver failed in their basic role in showing compassion and in their failure to recognize a medical emergency. Suggest if you have a genuine medical emergency , avoid this hospital.

This morning, I went to our local hospital's lab for a pre-op ECG and BNP (blood work). When I got there, #21 was being served and I was given #37. I was later given #36 when one fellow who didn't want to wait got up and left. I sat and waited for my number to be called and listened to the complaints about how much time it was taking to get into the lab. Apparently, no one bothered to consider that this was the first Monday of the month when a LOT of folks were there for their monthly blood tests. As it was, I was in and out of there in less than an hour. No charge. NO complaints here. I'm actually VERY grateful to have that service so close to my home. Furthermore, the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient. Thank you to the staff of the South Okanagan General Hospital!!

Friendly helpful staff. My husband has been in the emergency room twice in the last 6 weeks. Staff was excellent keeping us informed on what was going on at all times. Lots of free parking. Easy access.
