It has gotten better since Lonnie and that chick who thinks she knows it all is gone. Prices are still a little high and there is hardly ever any stock. They tend to promise to order something in and I give them my name and phone number ad never hear from them, but hopefully things will get better wen they move to their new location.

The People at "The Exotic Animal House" are truly wonderful. I have been on the search fora small rare animal called a tenrec. the wonderful people who work there put there nose to the grind stone and searched for one for me, even though they did not carry the animal in there store. these people are nothing but kind-hearted and amazing. they truly care for there animals and there customers. i highly recommend this place for anybody searching for great information or there new exotic bet friend!

As of November 17, 2014 the Exotic Animal House is under new ownership, new management and will be undergoing a huge makeover! For those of you who have had a negative experience with people in the past, policies and treatment - please give us another chance! We are trying to get the store cleaned up as soon as possible! Changes in staff, more education and better service!

Awesome new owners , and the employees are excellent.Great prices and very fair to their customers. They have a new location on Stockton avenue and looks fantastic has a much better feel. They have to compete with the big stores and being loyal to the store is important. I want the staff to know and understand my pets needs and with a smaller more intimate store, I can trust there opinions much more. These folks really work hard on finding all of what your looking for and if they have to order something in for you they work hard on making you happy Our pets are a part of the family and deserve the best and I am sure you feel the same way about your loved ones as I do.Please do yourself a favour try them out you wont regret it.

this store was questionable in the past (what kind of store sells puppies anymore)...but it has gone downhill tremendously recently. In the past few weeks they have quadrupled their animal load. There are dozens and dozens and dozens of rabbits crowded in cages. There are at least 8 or 9 bins of 5 or 6 puppies. There are rabbits in the same bin partitioned off from bigger puppies which would be so stressful for them and unsafe if a puppy gets over the partition. There are 10 or more kittens in a ferret cage, most who are too young to have been taken from their mother. 3 of them are 4 weeks old and are not even walking steady in their feet yet, appears their eyes just opened in the past week or 2. Again, they are in a multilevelled ferret cage, some of the young ones don't seem to know how to get to the top of the cage where the food and water is. The ones that are up there are so young they don't know how to drink from a bowl or eat the dry food they are being given. We witnessed one young kitten fall from the top of the cage to the bottom and land on its back into a bowl. I was horrified at how this store has went down hill in the last couple months. As it stands it appears to be nothing more than a money grab by someone who does not care about the animals at all. My children and I had to rush out of the store and dry our tears from the horrific conditions.

Great experience. Friendly and knowledgable staff! My first time buying a fish for my kids and they set me up with all I needed and said for me to not hesitate to contact them if I need anything!

DO NOT buy puppies from this pet store, they support puppy mills. I recently purchased a frenchton from the Exotic Animal House and when I brought the puppy home the first night she had live adult round worms in her stool. I contacted them immediately and they proceeded to tell me that was normal, it is absolutely not. The following day I had to take the puppy to the emergency as she was not eating or drinking and was lethargic. The vet examined her and noticed she had a rash on her head. They did a scraping and found out that the puppy has ring worm which is contagious and can be transferred to humans. He also explained to me that any reputable breeder would have addressed these issues before the puppy was ever sold. I informed the company and they told me they would pay for the cost of the vet bill and the medication. They never gave me a cent. A week went by waiting and waiting, all they did was give me the run around. The following Sunday, which would be a week since I had the puppy, she became violently ill. She had been throwing up all morning and had massive amounts of bloody diarrhea. Again, we were off to the emergency. The vet examined her and said that due to all of the worms, her intestines were full of parasites and that is why she became so ill. Again, I contacted the company and made them aware that there was a 1500 vet bill due to the fact that she was not dewormed. They basically told me that they would not pay for the cost and are now ignoring my calls. I have incurred 2300 in extra costs above the 2200 that I originally paid. DO NOT do business with these people, they do not stand behind their product and no customer should be subjected to this type of treatment. The experience has been extremely traumatic.
