NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank Reviews | Rating 4.8 out of 5 stars (8 reviews)

NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is located in Calgary, Canada on 6712 Fisher St SE #160. NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is rated 4.8 out of 5 in the category hospital & health care in Canada. NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is Canada's only community-based milk bank. Operating as a charitable organization, NorthernStar screens breastfeeding mothers, accepting donations of excess milk from approved donors to be pasteurized in our laboratory. Milk is then dispensed to sick babies in hospitals and at home. We believe, and science supports, that human milk is the best option for any baby and that all babies have the right to the life-saving nutrients of pasteurized donor human milk.

Northern Star Mother's Milk Bank has been a saving grace for our family during a time of illness and need. We are so grateful that they exist as a safe source of breastmilk for babies and hope that in the future we will be in a position to help support this wonderful organization. In the meantime we are forever grateful to the organization, staff and donors for the support we have received during this difficult time.

Such an outstanding idea and an increcible staff. I dont think NorthernStar receives enough recognition as to the service they provide to women and their families.

I called for information on purchasing breast milk for my baby, the women started out by saying "it was very expensive and I probably couldn't afford it" it was incredibly rude. I could not believe a non profit would discourage people from buying from them, how do they expect to keep their services running? They should be more receptive to questions, no wonder Alberta has such a low rate of breast feeding, no one wants to give out information other than how much something costs rather than the process and the value to your baby's development! The women finally explained the process to me, next time don't assume the person calling can't afford it.
