This dojo (York Mills) is absolutely wonderful. My son has challenges with coordination, noise, and new people and still thrives in this positive, supportive environment. We have been going here a few times a week for a year and a half and my son's self confidence and skills improveswith every visit.

Have been going to the Don Mills location with my daughter for 5 years. Fantastic place. Highly recommend that dads get their daughters in karate starting at 4 or 5. Great fitness, discipline, fun summer camps (my daughter attends 4 weeks every summer and it's always her favorite camp), and gives the girls a ton of confidence. Dads should join at the same time, like I did. It's a great activity to do with your daughter, beats driving her to ballet and just watching, and gets you in shape too. As kids get older, they can help teach classes and work at the camp. Great for developing leadership skills,
They kept charging my credit card even though my son went there only 6 times. They keep saying they will stop the payment but every month my credit card being charged 127. I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. Beware don't give away your credit card number or sign any contract.
Absolutely love this place! I have heard horror stories from other parents about other karate schools but all the reviews for this place have been positive so I enrolled both of my kids here. It was the best decision because my son has become so focused ever since starting. The instructors are absolutely amazing and they have so much patience. You feel as though it is one big family here! They know all the parents and kids, and there are always smiling faces. I would recommend this school to anyone!! Its also very clean and well kept and you can tell they love what they do!
Good activity for kids
We came to NKS Midtown initially because Emma was and is small for her age and she struggled with confidence. At NKS she has been introduced to discipline, structure, protocol and hard work at an encouraging and supportive pace. Emma's physical abilities, coordination, and strength have improved significantly since she has started. But the greatest change I have seen is an increase in her confidence and understanding of the importance of respect, focus and self-discipline. She is learning that size, gender and age are not a barrier to success. Without question, her growth is attributed to NKS and your instructors - you have assembled a group that is consistently excellent, with impressive skills that bring energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude to each and every class. We cannot imagine a better set of women and male role models for my daughter to learn from. As a parent, it is an amazing experience to watch my little girl learn the importance of these qualities and simply watch the significant growth she has already experienced. We are grateful to NKS for helping Emma along her journey in developing her skills and dedication to perseverance in her quest to achieve black belt excellence.
