The people at Salvation Army are awesome from the staff to volunteers they have been helping this community for over 15yrs if I'm not mistaken. Services they provide a food bank (must call to arrange appointment and live in area) from what I remember they had bread donations every Friday from local bakery. (call first) They have after school programs and have people whom speak Spanish there. This is also a church a place of worship the community is fortunate to have The Salvation Army located in a very good spot. FYI their building was part of the community swimming pool where the locals used to change into swim suits back in the day. it was awesome! !

In 1997 near Christmas time, I was out shopping at Walmart when I lost my wallet, it wasn't the money that mattered the most, it was my children's and my identification I was worried about! I was directed to this Salvation Army 20 Yorkwoods Gate, North York, and I was told, that they could help me get my children's and my I.D back, they proceeded to do this for me at no cost, I was extremely happy that they went the extra mile to help me! I was very grateful to them! Years have passed, and I am raising non-perishable foods! As well as mittens, hats, scarves, toys if possible and anything else that can help people in my community have a happier and healthy Christmas! It means alot to me, to be able to give back to my community! I would also like to give thanks to the great people who helped me in my time of need!
