My older brother was staying at the shelter he was there about two weeks. Some problems came about when it comes to my brother. With some of the rules and the seeking housing aspect of being in the shelter. So Friday night my brother arrives at my home confused and unsure why he is being told to leave. He came believing it was due to him not being able to give them money for transitional housing. Me and my mom ( my mom mainly ) called to discover the situation and inform the staff of my brothers developmental delays. Instead of being open minded and listening or trying to make a plan with us to get a better care plan in place for my brother on how they can help him best. The employees response I am a part time employee what do you want me to do. There’s nothing I can do to help your son. I think it is very sad that this women is not open minded/ educated in these areas with adults It’s sad that they don’t have a plan for those who face these challenges daily and get brushed under the rug. My brother already suffers low self esteem Really can’t cope with the daily challenges of life. If my brother was not able to come to me he would be sitting on the streets and he is very naive due to the extent of his learning disabilities. They left him vulnerable with no phone no where to start or knowledge or understanding of what his next steps would be. And for a shelter who should be more accepting and willing to work with their clients and the family to find a better plan for him you ultimately failed him , due to something you could not come to listen be opened minded and try to find a suitable plan.

I may not have appreciated the rules and policies at first, but I quickly realized that it was for my own good. The on site staff have always been helpful, just so long as you continue helping yourself. If you have a problem or need help, the staff are always ready to take it on. The top goal I've noticed, is that they strive to help individuals become self-sufficient. Thanks Team Nightlight.

I am very appreciative that nightlight is around and willing to help so many people that are down on their luck, not everyone is willing to be thankful for their services, but I am. Thanks for all the help Kerrie you've made living here much easier.

Refusing to provide contracts so that people who stay there know there rights. putting teenagers on the street at 10pm at night on a long weekend so it's impossible to get help elsewhere. When someone pays rent for a room isn't it there right to not be threatened that if they don't get out we will call the police. Very crooked workers(karie) and these people get away with this because these kids don't fight for there rights. Well not this time
