Any sympathy or provisions promised prior to an appointment are just to get you in the office. Say you said you didn't want a student from to be present prior, thry say its ok but on the day Dr Vikis was mad that I didn't want to talk to him. I had to wait for over 2 hours to be seen. She barely spent any time actually helping me. For a surgeon she does NOT have a gentle touch. The receptionist has no time for you, or patience. I left in tears and two days later I am still furious about how I was treated by Dr. Vikis and the humiliation I went through. She's trying to cram as many patients in to her day im assuming to make more money. If you have a choice go somewhere else. Also after reading other reviews that are positive on this forum, I'm convinced that they are ppl paid by Dr. Vikis to write them or she has such an obvious bias that only some people leave happy.

Dr vikis is an amazing surgeon and was very forward with all the information, even prior to my surgery she made sure I understood what was going to be going on inside the operating room. This office seems very busy but the receptionist and Dr vikis where super friendly.
Although the communication from the office and their policies can be frustrating at times as people have stated, working in health care myself, I understand how busy these offices get. Most specialist offices have a cancellation policy and fee for non compliance so this is not out of the ordinary, especially for offices with long wait lists. Dr Vikis herself is a wonderful surgeon and her surgical residents are amazing as well. I had laparoscopic bowel resection surgery back in June for my Crohn's and the care I received was wonderful. It was my first surgery and both Dr. Vikis and her resident made sure I was well taken care of. 6 months later, I am feeling well and you can hardly see my scars at all. Thank you Dr Vikis!
Dr.Vikis has a very busy schedule, so the appointment seemed extremely rushed. I had an intern take my medical history, which I feel should have been Dr.Vikis herself. The office/reception does not prep you for what could be expected in your appointment. I didn't plan on having a procedure during my first appointment, but I was assured the procedure would be easy and relatively pain free. There was not a lot of explanation on what was going to happen with pros, cons, potential risks, side effects, etc....all the things you like to research on before having something done to your body. I had to make a 10 second decision of whether or not I wanted the procedure on the spot or wait another couple months for another appointment. I felt the procedure was played down and made to seem simple, easy, and relatively pain free. I wish I had been told up front the ugly part of it, not just the pretty picture. Dr.Vikis should write a prescription or recommend drug alternatives incase what she has recommended for pain control fails. Follow up phone calls should be done the next day with all patients who undergo any procedure. This is the first specialist I have come across who does not make follow up phone calls post procedure and tells you to call your GP or go to the ER if you have problems (neither a GP or ER doctor have any clue what to do if you're having problems, because it's not their specialty). In summary, Dr.Vikis is overloaded with patients. Appointments are rushed. No proper follow-up on post procedure. No phone number to reach an on-call specialist incase you're having issues. I would search around for another specialist....
Dr. Vikis is an amazing surgeon. I can’t say enough good things about her skill, demeanor and efficiency. Her office staff were pleasant and helpful.
