On behalf of my Mom & my family, I extend our heartfelt thanks to John Mai, who not only arranged for the free repair of a very old hearing aid for Mom earlier this year, but who went above & beyond most recently in arranging for the replacement of one hearing aid lost (*as well as its aged counterpart) for Mom. She is one of many seniors living in a long term care facility under restrictive COVID protocols. Not only did John immediately offer to conduct her audiology test & hearing aid fitting within her facility (thus avoiding the 2-week quarantine she would otherwise have had to endure if she had attended his office), he advocated with the insurance company on her behalf to ensure the best hearing outcome for her. He was not only professional, but kind, caring, and generous with his time. We will always be grateful.

My visit today to the Amplifon hearing clinic in New Westminster was my second one to a fine hearing aid clinic since earlier in the summer. I'm writing today to express my positive review of the Amplifon system and service. Specifically, I chose this company because they promoted their experience dealing with ambient noise issues. Sure enough the test was different. First, Kam R., the technician who patiently handled the test, made sure he understood my situation so that the test would focus on my ambient noise problem. The first part was standard. \Click when you hear a beep\, he said. However, the rest was different. He proceeded with a similar test, but with ambient noise in the background. Man, that was revealing. I couldn't hear a thing after only the 2nd beep. Then, we did the spoken words repeats. I did not do too well there either. We, then, did an unusual test: the Bone test where a sensor is clipped on the bone behind the weaker ear to capture any sound that I should hear on that side. Apparently, when that ear does not respond, the brain automatically sends the sound to the other ear. It further measures the condition of that ear and confirms the earlier observation. When all these tests were done, while, still, in the test chamber, Kam demonstrated what a difference hearing aids will make. As he spoke to me, he slowly raised the volume until I was comfortable with it. He, then went back to the level I had claimed earlier as comfortable. There was a world of difference. It proved instantly and without a doubt what benefits I would derive from hearing aids. Later, John, the Manager, even inquired on my behalf about a potential government subsidy to help with the cost. This sort of attention left me with huge confidence in the evaluation, the process and the company. I would definitely recommend this specific clinic to all those who may have hearing issues.
