First visit to this club was a very pleasant experience. My wife and I flew into CYCD for the first time in about 20 years and saw a modern growing terminal and regional airlines as we taxied in. We asked the Radio Operator for parking area guidance and were directed to the area of the NFC. There was a grass area and a small hard surface ramp immediately in front of the club facility. There was a club member near the door so we shut down and asked if we could park and were graciously allowed to park our Warrior in that area for the afternoon. We were then invited into the clubhouse and it appeared that we interrupted a club meeting of some sort. Despite that interruption by our intrusion we were given a pleasant welcome by all and shown around the beautiful building by a senior member (sorry I don’t recall his name now). Our family arrived to pick us up and we spent the rest of the day in Nanaimo with our Granddaughter and her parents. We returned to fly home to Abbotsford later and were greeted by another member who documented our visit with a photo of our family taken in front of the clubhouse. What’s great day! Very nice club with a country atmosphere great members. In the winter there's usually a fire going in the fireplace. There's fuel available for members and non-members.
Great bunch of guys. Good conversation, and sometimes breakfast.
