I highly recommend Chapman Motors (Volvo specialist) but the awesome mechanic can fix any other kind of vehicle you have that needs repair. Sean the mechanic is the best! Terry and Sean thank you very much :)

Had an unknown error message pop up on my new XC60, I was concerned and frustrated. Cody answered my call, told me he was booked up for the week, but could here my concern and suggested I bring the vehicle in so they could check the message and make sure it wasn't anything serious. When I got there Sean spent a good deal of time decoding everything for me and explaining how to work my car. I was in and out and extremely relieved and grateful. What amazing service! Thank you both very very much! Highly recommend Chapman motors.

Terry runs a solid business here at Chapman. Needed front sway bar bushings and a new piece of exhaust fixed on my 2004 S40. Not only did Sean (the technician) fix the problem with ease they also got me in right away when other shops were weeks behind. They keep great communication along the way while the work is being done and will notify you if any other problems arise during the process. I would 100% recommended any of the Chapman Motor locations for any service you need done on your vehicles. Thanks again Terry & Sean will be back for my future mechanical needs. Shamus

We had a 3rd party deliver our Volvo for programming a module. The tool was apparently not on site after appointment was made and in turn car needed to be left over night (OK). While we were waiting and looking at other options we spoke with Volvo Victoria who expressed same day service with charge of 150.00tax. Which consisted of 85software 65 of labor.. Chapman did get the job done and then issued an invoice for 150.00software and 225Labor 375tax!!! How can they charge 225 labor when dealer charges 65.. I asked the 3rd party to give them the opportunity to make this right and response was that they usually tell people that they charge more then dealer but may have neglected to do so?? Really the principal not the price! In the future we will make the trip to Victoria.

So far I've had 2 bad experiences with Chapman Motors in Nanaimo. The first was in 2007 after I bought a used 2001 V70 XC and brought it in for a mechanical inspection. They told me it would need a timing belt. After many hours I returned to a vehicle that had NOT had the timing belt replaced because \the one in there is aftermarket\ so rather than pay 700 for a timing belt job they charged me 500 for an oil change that I didn't ask for and replacing the fuse for the rear wiper motor that wasn't working. My second experience was in May 2014 when the same car was running a bit odd and I had it checked out because Canadian Tire couldn't figure out the problem. Chapman charged me 100 to tell me I needed a PCV system service for 1500 and that MIGHT fix it. I got a second opinion over the phone from another Volvo specialist that told me that the PCV service wouldn't fix it. About a week later, the car died on the side of the highway and BCAA towed it to the nearest garage where they had it fixed in one day by replacing a mass airflow sensor. 500 and one day later, my car is running better than it has in months. If you're going to advertise your shop as \Volvo Specialists\ then you should be better at diagnosing a problem than Joe Mechanic at any old garage. DON'T GO HERE! TAKE YOUR VOLVO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
