Their purple yam tastes SOUR! They call this purple “SWEET” potato and “SWEET” red bean mochi. It’s overnight purple yam for 5 dollars.

This is my first time tryingg Korean rice cakes. I recieved them from a friend and thouroughly enjoyed them. They were fresh and had a really great chew on them. What I appreciate about them the most is that for a dessert they are not crazy sweet. They pair well with a warm drink as well.
I’ve ordered via Fantuan a couple of times and their rice cakes are always packaged so well! My favourite flavours are the Osmanthus and Injeolmi (Soybean). They freeze well and it’s super easy to steam again (my trick is using a damp paper towel in a microwave).
Tried the 떡 ddeok rice cakes from Nam Dae Moon some time ago (more than one occasion) and am always so satisfied! Even my parents really like them! Reminded me of when I was younger when my grandmother used to make them from scratch. This being said, I can vouch for the authenticity of these rice cakes. Soft, chewy, and dense. A slightly sweet dessert or snack to try! Osmanthus Rice Cake is my fave from here since I like the sweetness the jelly in the middle brings. Time to go back for another visit soon
Holy damn. Ordered from this place thro h Uber Eats with their BOGO deal. Gawd damn it’s delicious. The texture is on point. The presentation is great. Taste is light but the phenomenal. It’s so good I even even had to drop a review here. That’s how good it is. I would definitely come back and pay full price. Even their full price is cheap AF. Great deal on one of the best mochi joints in Toronto.
First time trying this place out as I’ve seen pictures all over. Ordered the sweet red bean rice cake alongside the purple sweet potato and the strawberry redbean daifuku. The rice cakes were really nice and chewy and had that great texture. Not too sweet and really nice. This one, I had a piece immediately and save the rest for the next day and best to reheat if you want that nice yummy gumminess of the rice cake. The daifuku came frozen as they try to prep everything to go due to covid right now so you are in and out. But once thawed, the mochi itself was nice soft and right amount of chew to it. And huge too! So big and round, but a ton of filling which balanced out the subtlety of the rice cakes super mild set flavour. Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for more amazing pics and content!
Couldn’t understand why they opened a Korean Rice Cake place owned by Chinese, especially when H-Mart exists around the corner, but tried this place twice now and I can see the appeal. They sell Korean, Chinese and Japanese rice cakes so could easily have called themselves something else, but the Korean themed packaging is really well done. The rice cake is a bit sweeter than Korean ones and fits a Chinese palate a bit better arguably (as my wife who is Korean agrees) and the steamed rice cake is Chinese style and pretty rare to find here. The injeolmi soybean one is the best, and pumpkin one js nice too. The osmantheus one isn’t worth it at all being nearly double the price, quality isn’t as good either. Taking a star out for it being quite pricey still
Finished dinner in the North York area and decided to get some snacks to take home. I heard of this place before but never been, so I decided to visit. A lovely, clean, and bright place located right on Finch and Yonge serving many different Korean Rice Cakes! Super friendly staff! After I told her my first time, she patiently explained each one. I ended up picking up a few plus some daifuku which is like mochi! Once I got home, I started to eat them and these Korean rice cakes were so delicious and chewy! So fresh! My fav is the black sesame! The smell of the black sesame is just amazing! Highly recommend to come grab a few boxing home!
