This is a very nice museum showcasing the history and culture of the people, both past and present, who reside in this Northwestern side of Canada. Before the Europeans arrived here with their railways and steamships to harness the natural resources, it was largely the First Nations Peoples who inhabited this region. As a result much of their art forms and traditional crafts have been displayed. There is a curio and bookshop as well. The museum is open on all days from 9 am to 5 pm in the summers. There is a token entry fee.

Nice display of exhibits. I would prefer a little more description, but still worth the 8 entry fee.

Beautiful and you need to do an appointment so we arrive and call and found a spot one hour later and they open on time and we have the museum for ourselves

I spent over an hour looking at the exhibits. Pictures are allowed but no flash. 8 to get in. There's a nice gift shop as well. 4 stars because I paid full price but didn't have access to the gallery (renovations).

Absolutely and beautifully curated museum. Great info about the history and the original people of the area. Very educational, informative and a great collection of artifacts. A must visit if you’re in Rupert.

Amazing artifacts . Found out puffins beaks shed. Didn't know that. The section where children come together and tell their feelings of being Canadian was powerful.

Some amazing artifacts and history from an incredible people and landscape. Unfortunately the way the museum is curated is a little odd –lots of written history (which is super interesting), and lots of amazing artifacts, but almost no explanation of the artifacts you're looking at. I highly recommend going, but take someone knowledgeable with you, or get a tour or audio tour, or some kind of resource so you're not just reading essays in the wall and looking at objects with no explanation. But it's serious worth the trip.
