Mr. Pets is hit or miss each time we visit. They have a variety of toys, aquarium decor, and treats that other places don't have, but they also don't have a lot of variety in other areas, and their pricing can be quite high comparable to other stores a lot of the time. The staff is hit or miss too, usually younger adults or students it seems where some are very friendly and helpful, and others look like they want to kill you for just asking them a question or coming up to pay for your items. Some days there is staff all over, other days it's a struggle to find anyone. We have more okay experiences than bad, so we'll continue to visit when we need certain things, but I'd respectfully recommend some more training on customer service for some of the team members.

Always well staffed, super nice folks, good prices on the things I've bought, and they let me wash me enormous hairy beast in their raised tub so I don't break my back :)
Very poor customer service. Went in for a new kitten litter. Asked for help from two people stocking a shelf, which they made clear that i was inconvenient to them.. I said I was looking for a new litter that wasn't clay but wanted something that clumped better then my current wheat litter. Girl just tells me that only clay clumps and nothing else will. She was short and rude. Left and went to another pet store .. super happy with the recommendation from the other store of a natural litter that clumps just as good as clay.
I WAS SO OFFENDED! I was just in your store and a young blonde clerk refused to sell me a goldfish. Infact the interaction was so offensive we may never set foot in your shop again! I have been creating a habitat for over 4 months in a 3 gallon vessel with live plants to create a natural aquaculture. Koi, carp and goldfish will grow only to the size of their habitat. I understand this because I am very experienced and have had goldfish in a glass vessel with live plants and had a pond with a bio-filter. I have run an addoption center for the BCSPCA and have a very clear understanding of the 5 freedoms that are the guiding principals to animal welfare. How dare she judge me and my knowledge. OUTRAGEOUS! Even more shocking is there were dead goldfish in every tank. Clearly the clerk doesn't understand animal welfare and abuse!
Picked up some non-clumping kitty litter today from Mr.Pets. It’s cheaper here than Walmart so that great and they also have friendly staff to help carry out large items like this. The store is so clean and doesn’t have that nasty chemical odour which some pet store have.
