Hi my name is Gabriel Harrar. I recently secured myself a position within the Census division of Statistics Canada. My candidacy was conditional upon successful completion of the Public Service Second Language Assessment. Thanks to the team at LRDG. I was successful. For starters, the program itself was very intuitive with easy-to-use modules, great dialogue and endless resources for language learning. In the days leading up to my exam, they provided me with a flexible schedule to adapt to my needs and their best tutors to ensure I was ready. I just wanted to thank LRDG for allowing me to use their self-study platform. It tracks your progress so it holds you accountable! I also really enjoyed the video / dialogue component of the modules, how it broke down each scene but also gave you the transcript to follow alongside. The fact that they colour coordinate parts of words to indicate mas/fem. and gave the option to translate the page, if needed, are awesome features. I am definitely a visual learner so all of those extra aids were great. Additionally, they were extremely accommodating and always provided a prompt and professional response when needed. I had a great experience at LRDG! The online platform is very easy to use and extremely helpful. There are countless resources to draw from and the staff will go out of their way to make sure you’re getting everything you need. The tutors are also incredible and really nice! It’s a great way to learn a new language if you want to take your time and do it properly, modules are clearly structured and easy to follow. If you do the work you’ll improve your skills so much without even realizing it!
I feel more confident speaking in my second language since starting at LRDG, and my colleagues and friends tell me I’m making strides. This, mixed with the patient and careful instruction by the tutors and the flexibility and responsiveness of the staff, encourages me to keep going! Highly recommend giving LRDG a try!
