The temple website says, "All people new to Enpuku-ji, regardless of their practice background, are asked to attend a newcomer's session." And indeed they mean it, so if you try to sit with them without attending one of these sessions (held once a month) you will be turned away. This makes Empuku-ji inaccessible to tourists, including those with long Zen practice experience.

I tried to register for a newcomer's session. I couldnt reach them by email or phone (called three times).
A very welcoming place to practice.
