If you're used to education in BC or AB, I wouldn't waste your time with this. The program isn't flexible (even for an online platform) and instructors are reluctant to aid or budge. I'm still getting refusal after refusal when requesting to speak with the board.

Currently visit there and lay to get in and find parks was good and staff there are very friendly as well. Deffently i good place to go if looking at beibg a student
Not sure how this place is a "school". Terrible organization, and the school doesn't care about their students whatsoever.
Love this school and am alumni from here myself, but I am not impressed with the carpentry program this year. When students got discouraged because lack of hands on learning and fell behind, teachers did not care to encourage them when school year fell apart when Covid closed the school. I think that the students from 2019-2020 should be able to come back next year after the spring break and continue the hands on course that they should have had a chance to complete. They did not complete any big projects at all. They were finally just about to start a deck and it closed down. You cannot learn proper carpentry with theory alone, especially being at home and not in the right environment, some people learn best by hands on to apply the theory to.
I'm a student with an A average who is dropping out of their program half way through. Unusual requests from instructors..
Took a course here a few years ago in sheet metal fabrication. Was told by the instructors in no uncertain terms that what we were learning was antiquated and we would likely never use what we were being taught. That should have been the first red flag Then I noticed only a few of the "key" students got any kind of regular help in the shop. I was struggling, and rarely got proper instruction from the instructors (who 90% of the time would hole themselves up in the office rather than make themselves available to the class for questions/help) I passed my block 1 and refused to even get my diploma I was so disgusted with not only the course and the way it was run, but my work attachment showed me just how much alcoholism on the jobsite is tolerated on the hush-hush. I think there might be 2 of us from that class that ended up in the trade. If this is at all indicative of how the other courses are run, stay away from NBCC. Not worth the time, effort, or money.
Decent college could have reduced rates for locals.
It wqs good. Nice and Clean.
