We have been fortunate to have the Dr. Lizotte and the staff at Elmwood Veterinary clinic support us in keeping our dog family in optimal health for more than a decade.... providing annual check-ups, recommendations and guidance on a variety of health and age-related issues. We are happy to report in their advancing years (13 - 10 - 8 yrs) they continue to live healthy and active lives.... The service has been consistently excellent, flexible and timely, and we appreciate the appointment reminders with a family the recommendations / suggestions have been practical and economical. The staff approach is open and welcoming. Our dogs respond in a calm, quiet manner to the staff, without any sign of nervousness that they are anticipating a negative experience.

I have no problems with the new strategies that the Vet hospitals are taking to protect themselves and the clients at the same time. On Christmas Eve 2020 I called them around 11am to say my cat was trying to cough up a hairball, but couldn't. I wanted to bring him in. She asked me if it was an emergency. I said not really. She put me on hold for 10 minutes. During that time my cat started to make howling noises and the situation was escalating. When she came back I said it was now an emergency. She said they were booked up and closing at noon for Christmas. I would have to go to the emergency in Riverview, said sorry and hung up. I put my cat in his carrier and took off. I live in Grand Digue. With holiday traffic, by the time I got to the Riverview bridge my cat had violently choked to death in my passenger seat. I loved my cat more than anything. I have spend THOUSANDS of dollars at that clinIc including 400 on my other cat earlier that month. They wouldn't even take 10 MINUTES for my cat. I will never forget this Christmas and I will never return there.
