It was too early in the season when we trekked across PEI. I lucked out when I contacted What a great day to be on the water off Prince Edward Island. I was allowed to tag along with Captain Andrew Roberts of Misty Blue Waters and his 2 person crew as they checked their lobster traps. Their typical 17 hour day starts at 3 a.m., leaving the docks at 4:45 am returning 9 hours later, they all then work until 8 p.m., 6 days a week! So great to learn of their lives and ways. Eric hoists those traps out of the water, lifting 18 tons per day with small but solid Iris pushing 18 tons of traps up the side of the boat. They all work in unison, amazing to watch. No lines get tangled. They throw back 5 times more than they can legally keep. As Capt. Roberts replied when I asked, "oh no, if we kept everyone there'd be none left" Another lobster boat pulls up to share lunchtime. I am exhausted just being with them. Reassuring to know there are folks that still actually work their butts off and love it. I could live here me thinks. Water so clear you can see the bottom in 20 feet of water. A memory I will carry with me the rest of my life! Thank you so much for the experience!

A family member recommended we check out Misty Blue Waters for their fish & chips. They made the bold claim that they were even better than Richard's and so we had to see for ourselves. It was delicious. Worth the trip and a much shorter lineup (though that will change as I imagine this place won't remain a well kept secret for long) than the spot next door. Nice cheeseburger, too. Tartar sauce for the fish was
