I had to go to Credit Valley Hospital Emergency Department on Friday. Every single Front Line Worker I saw there was wonderful, kind and compassionate. I saw Dr. Benjamin Strauss. I was in a lot of pain and at the \end of my rope\. He was compassionate and thorough with his examination. He did not rush. He listened to me as if I was his only patient at that time. So thank you Dr. Strauss. Today, Monday, I already have an appointment with a surgeon. Thank God for all these hard working professionals and thank God for our OHIP medical coverage.

I was in the emergency for mental health reasons and as I was sitting waiting to go in to see the doctor I noticed a lady who could have been a nurse or a head nurse but she was talking to one of the patients who seemed to be either a friend or a family member or something but she was not stand 6 feet and when I was waiting one of the volunteers had no idea the lady who could have been a head nurse worked there because she didn’t have her name tag but The volunteer said excuse me but we are limiting visitors and the nurse said sweetie I know I work here and continued talking to the patient and left about 20 minutes I was there. Is she is an emergency head nurse or regular nurse she SHOULD be doing her work and not being on her phone and talking with a patient. Please tell your nurses this is a hard time and they need to do their jobs

It is with great sadness that I write this review but I am so disappointed with CVH despite the great work they do. My mother is the most important person to me and I will always fight for her. She is hearing impaired and had to show up at the hospital for care in an ambulance. My one star rating is because the CVH failed to contact an interpreter for my mother who is hearing impaired during a time where a 'visitor' cannot enter the hospital with a patient. They choose to call a family member instead of contacting the correct services such as an interpreter. This action could've killed my mother. I choose to put them on blast because in a multi-cultural city/country they need to have a system in place where staff are aware what steps to take because we all do NOT speak the English language. If this was court the judge would not proceed without ensuring an interpreter was present. Why isn't this the same for healthcare?
