I came to this branch to withdraw some cash. I gave the teller my account number, along with 2 pieces of ID. She proceeded to ask me several questions of verication along with details of my employment, all the while not explaining why. I finally asked her why I was being interrogated to which she replied she was verifying my identity. There is absolutely no reason for that many questions when you have 2 pieces of my government issued photo ID in front of you. It didn't take long for this woman to become incredibly rude with me, saying \by law we are required to do this\. There are no words for the way I was being treated. Everything from the way this woman was addressing me, to the look on her face said she was miserable. She was being deceitful about whatever it was she was doing, and that is not the kind of experience I want to have with the company that holds my money. At one point I asked to speak to a manager, to which she replied that she was the manager. Her name is Anna Clarke, and she is a terrible example for BMO. Truly disappointed and disgusted.

1. Went into this branch to replace my expired mortgage with an open mortgage. I wanted the open mortgage because I was selling the house, and didn't want to pay a pre-payment penalty. Signed on the dotted line as instructed by the mortgage person in the bank. I paid an appropriate premium for an open mortgage. Imagine my surprise when, after selling the house, I was charged a pre-payment penalty!!!!!! I discussed this with the person at the bank who gave me the mortgage. That person gave no reasonable explanation of why my mortgage had a pre-payment penalty, even though we had agreed on an open mortgage with no pre-payment penalty. Eventually the bank offered to reduce the pre-payment penalty by about 50 percent. That still means I paid a substantial pre-payment penalty, even though I had asked for and thought I had received an open mortgage [the rate was that of an open mortgage]. What a rip-off, and surely illegal. 2. Sold the house and retired. My former employer sent my severance pay to the bank to deposit directly into my RRSP. However, the bank did not deposit the cheque into my RRSP. I don't know why not. The Mission BMO made an appointment for me with an RRSP knowledgeable person in my retirement town, who was supposedly to look after ensuring the deposit was correctly transferred into my RRSP, and provide me with information and advice on taking cash from my RRSP. which I am obliged to do by the end of the year. The appointment was for a week away. I guess they're busy. I showed up for my appointment, but the RRSP advisor at my new branch didn't know what happened to my cheque, or provide me with info of any kind. No one can inform me about what happened to the cheque or whly it wasn't deposited into my RRSP. No luck contacting anyone at the branch; left with the remote call center, who tries to no avail. One star.
