Took over a year of waiting to finally get in to see someone. Very frustrating wait but the staff are helpful and kind and will answer any questions you may have. Almost all of my calls were returned within 1-2 business days. Free counciling service. If you can wait it's very helpful.
I am so absolutely disappointed in my appointment today. I went in today to check my status on the waiting list for a psychiatrist and the secretary told me that either I could wait several more months or get checked to see what else has developed. So I decided to talk to one of the workers. The appointment went well at first. But after a bit she became negative and decided to diagnose me with a personality disorder. Which is out of her jerisdiction. Also told me how am I eligible to diagnose myself when she is a medical professional for several years. Well I am eligible since I have lived with myself for 20 years now. And at the end she says “We will keep you on the waiting list” (ignorant tone) like was she trying to say that I should be on the waiting list or that I am not high priority. Beyond angry
Save yourself the pain, disappointment, devastation. The services that are available are circa 1996 and the person who does intake obviously hates her job and the people who come for help. Try another city or even another province.
An absolute joke of a system! There is no help for our youth until it is too late. * I had to click a star in order to write a review. Zero stars given to this organization!
