Nox dojo is a friendly place and by watching karate classes, while waiting for my Aikido class to start, I have found that Sensei Sean cares deeply about the well being of the school age students that train there. While most martial arts can teach you self-confidence, alertness and provide a certain sense of competence and safety, I have found Aikido to be the most intelligent system of forms of a physical confrontation system. Aikido is working from the perspective that permanently injuring your opponent may not be the wisest course of action to set in motion, yet it is still a martial art and must be rooted in the physical body. I find class to remind me that martial arts is about training the mind to be focused. Sensei Hewson is an example and teaches with both the background of old Bushido and modern Western essence; having the sensitivity to be both gentle and stern as an instructor. The assistant instructors are committed to Aikido (and many have training in other martial arts) and can help point out in various ways where the gaps are in your existing technique as well as teach beginners with patience.
The kids LOVE Sensei Sean. He has a way with kids, they listen to him and love him! Convenient location, lots of parking. Class sizes are great. Can't say enough about it!
NOX Dojo far exceeded our expectations! In the short span of 7 months, we saw our girls grow tremendously as individuals. From hoping to gain a few self-defense tricks to becoming aspiring athletes looking to compete at Nationals, Sensei Sean has created a safe and welcoming environment for kids to grow; pushing boundaries they never thought they would be able to do and learning skills that can be applied in all facets of life. We are so happy to be part of the NOX family!

Nox Dojo is like a second home for us...including the parents...making meaningful connections and supporting each other. Nox provides endless opportunities for kids to achieve their personal best and working together as a team to accomplish their goals. Above all, more important than medals, kids bond with their teammates, learn essential life skills and create memorizes they will cherish for life.
Fantastic place to learn martial arts and life skills! My kids have been going for 10 years and continue to improve their skills and confidence - competing at the National level. His womens self defense course was AMAZING... informative and fun!
