I have 1972 Les Paul Deluxe that for several years now needed a “once over”, including a fret job and refinish, however I was hesitant to hand it over to just anybody. Enter Dan MacPherson: I had heard about Dan through the local music community; did some research; made a visit to his facility and discussed our options – needless to say I decided to leave it in his hands. I can’t say enough how well the project turned out: the finish is of a higher quality than factory, and the playability has improved significantly. After this experience, I’m spoiled: I’ll definitely have to bring in my Tele for a setup, as well as seriously take a look at Dan’s lineup of guitars. We are fortunate to have a top-shelf luthier the likes of Dan MacPherson operating in the Okanagan Valley.

I'm the proud owner of my very own signature guitar, \The Pagan\ from MacPherson Guitars. It's an incredibly versatile instrument and ridiculously easy to play. The craftsmanship is second none. Having played everything from Strats to Les Pauls and PRS over the past 35 years, the MacPherson Pagan is the only guitar I use on the stage and in the studio.
I own a black MacPherson Preacher that Dan made for me. If you look on his website, you'll see it. It's simply stunning. Flame maple top, Oil City humbuckers, ebony board. Beyond its incredible looks are its incredible sound and playability. It was setup low out of the box and has a comfortable neck and 44mm board (specified by me). I own many guitars. Gibson, Fender, PRS, Rickenbacker, Baxendale, Gretsch. I have several Fender and Gibson custom shop models and they are fantastic but... they don't come close to my MacPherson in terms of craftsmanship or attention to detail. My preacher is a work of art and sounds incredible both clean and crunchy. It was also a very reasonable price for what is effectively a 'masterbuilt' bespoke custom guitar. My custom shop models from Fender and Gibson cost more and while they are superb, they're not as good as my MacPherson which is my go to guitar.
