I adopted a wee little poodle named Sara from LOYAL in 2007. I was so impressed by her foster parent Janet, and by the thoroughness of the process to adopt. It was evident that this group of volunteers had a passion for the well being of the dogs in their care. Post adoption, the foster parent and I remained in touch. She asked whether I'd ever consider volunteering, and so my journey with LOYAL began. From doing some administrative work, to interviewing applicants, to attending adoption events, conducting home reviews, transporting dogs and finally becoming a foster home. It has been an incredible, life transforming experience. So, yes, this is a review from an insider, but 13 years ago, I was like you, a potential adopter. Although my darling little Sara has since passed on, her legacy remains.

We are so grateful for Loyal bringing more joy, love and happiness with our new adopted pup. Their process was amazingly-methodical, thorough and extremely friendly. Most importantly they made sure that the dog would find the best forever home and walked us through every stage with care and diligence. Thank you Loyal Rescue.
We adopted the most loyal, sweet, loveable gal from Loyal. Loyal takes the time to match the pet to the owner, as many other reviews have stated. My husband and I had a lengthy interview (which we enjoyed) with the doggy foster mom. Through the interview, not only did the foster mom learn about us, we also had the opportunity to see if this gal was the right fit for our home. Even up until the meet and greet, we knew that there was a chance that we might not be adopting her (pending our other dog's approval). Each rescue dog has unique needs and we were lucky that we could provide for hers (i.e. tall fence, companion dog who liked her). The evening we adopted our girl, we had a bit of an emergency and the foster parents drove 1.5 hours to our home. All is well and we keep in touch. The foster mom is always there for advice and support. I would highly recommend Loyal. If you aren't a match for one dog, maybe you will be for another. Be patient. These volunteers do everything they can to ensure the best home for each dog.
Home-based Foster rescue. Very dedicated volunteers that work hard to find good homes for awesome dogs.
We are so thankful to have found Loyal Rescue, we wouldn't have found our sweet pup without them! They are VERY thorough in selecting candidates which seems to be where a lot of the negative reviews stem from. People with negative experiences are quick to jump on the internet and speak up. With that aside, my experience with Loyal Rescue was nothing but positive: We went to an adoption event at a local pet store where we met Torvi (dog!), and got to meet the woman taking care of her at the time. We chatted for a while and exchanged contact information (we were not the only ones interested in this dog...) A few days later we received a phone call from Loyal Rescue saying they would like to arrange a home visit, but it was not certain whether the dog was ours at this point. We \passed\ the home visit inspection and then received word a day later that Torvi would be coming home with us. It was certainly a process but I appreciate how thorough they are with selecting a home for their dogs. They really try to place the dogs in the right environment for their particular needs/issues etc.. I would definitely use Loyal Rescue again in the future.
