We reserved a car on December 29 for today at 7:30am. The website, google information and 1-800 number all confirmed they open at 7:30am. We showed up and no one was there. We waited until 7:55 and no one showed up. We went to enterprise and thankfully they were helpful and able to accommodate us so family could get on the road for a medical appointment. We finally got through to someone at 8:15 only to be told they open at 8am. If they open at 8am, why are you able to reserve a car for 7:30? Why weren’t we called to change the reservation last week if it was incorrect? Absolutely terrible customer service.

The young gentleman working there was amazing he went above and beyond . I wish I could deal with him everyday. He made a very difficult time in my life so much easier. You are amazing.
I went to the Hertz location (460 York St, London, ON N6B 1R2) to collect the car at 10 am. The booking was for 4 days and I had planned everything around the pick up time (we were a group of 8 friends and had to leave the city by 11 am). When I arrived at the location, the Hertz rep told me that he had no vehicles available and it was already 10:15 am. He did not notify me about this beforehand and I tried calling the location 3-4 times around 9 and 9:30 am to confirm but he did not pick up the phone (busy with other customers at the time). This was a disappointing experience and I had to quickly find alternatives which delayed our leaving time to 1 pm. Please do not take online reservations if you have limited availability, it can really disrupt someone's trip.
Called the Hertz company phone number to ask questions regarding bringing a dog along. Was told it was OK. The vehicle provided was neat and clean. We went on our trip, using seat covers and blankets in the back to minimize hair. After our trip we used hair rollers and vacuumed the whole vehicle. During inspection, we were told we would have to pay a 300 cleaning fee because we had brought a dog. They told us a little angrily about this and laughed us off when we tried to explain what the call centre told us. They told us it \doesn't matter\ what the call centre said, because they are the renters. They acknowledged our effort cleaning but said it still smelled like dog. They ended up being nice and bringing the cleaning fee down to 100. Still, a disappointing outcome. We will definitely look elsewhere when renting.
