I was planning to drop of a motor within the next 2 days for machining. Called today to ask for a ball park price on a rebuild kit including everything from bearings, lifters, pushrods, cam and rockers. I wasn't looking to reuse anything besides the block and head. I was told I had the cart before the horse and time is a valuable commodity so he won't be looking into it. Pretty standard for a company to provide a master overhaul kit and I think I should be allowed to have a price on a kit before 1000 bucks worth of machining is done. Wont be dropping that motor off there any more, good job guys, good to see companies who care to help a customer or even listen to them at all.

Make sure you ask ALL the questions before you purchase anything! I have no doubt that they know their stuff about engines, but I called to ask who in Lethbridge might have what I was looking for, and was told "We do!" When I went to pick it up, he waited till after the credit transaction went through to tell me it was special order! The project was very time sensitive, and I even gave him a chance to deliver it in the 3 days, but it took 4 and it no longer made sense for me to pick it up. When I asked to return it, I was told 20% restocking fee! This guy might know his stuff, but maybe ask him questions and then order from RockAuto.com Edit: I definitely didn't understand that they were special order, as it was never mentioned, and I called on Monday and was told to call back Tuesday as Jesse was the only one authorized to cancel the order and wasn't in till then. Edit #2: I was angry and did call him names

Diesel Broke

Terrible work, save yourself the trouble-original Writing back to owner after his response to my original comment. My transmission never worked properly after being “rebuilt” by performance powertrain. I had raised concerns back in 2014 but they said everything was working properly. I pulled my 68rfe out of my diesel and put a manual g56 in so my truck would work. The automatic sat in my shed for years until I took it to a shop to be rebuilt to sell and they told me my clutches were in wrong and backwards and it was missing a clutch in one pack. The shop I took it to has no reason to lie. I spoke to the owner of performance powertrain to let him know what was found and I wasn’t asking for anything, just so he knew what kind of workmanship he was doing and he was extremely rude. Maybe diesels aren’t your cup of tea and you should stick to hot rods. The bill was 5400 and I wish I went to a real professional.
