It’s Vancouver’s first Hawaiian-inspired flower shop with traditional Hawaiian leis, flower crowns, bouquets and a subscription flower delivery service. This is the first flower shop in Vancouver to have a zero-waste approach, which will save 75,000 plastic bags from landfills each year. All flowers are predominantly sourced from local B.C. farms and the flower packaging is completely biodegradable. From the plantable seed paper boxes, to reusable storage bags made from backyard compostable material, to natural foam and washable Kraft paper bags, Leis de Buds has a first-of-its-kind approach to the retail carbon footprint in Vancouver. The leisdeBUS is also the first solar-powered on-the-go flower market in Vancouver. It hosts an impressive rooftop of solar panels and a Tesla Powerwall, providing enough natural energy to remain off-the-grid for 30+ hours. The leisdeBUS will be popping up at festivals and events around Vancouver. The Plant, as it is affectionately called, has been visited by Vancouver’s top bloggers and media, who have referred to the storefront as “Vancouver’s most Instagrammable location” with tropical flowers draping from the ceiling and wicker hanging chairs. It’s the perfect spot for a unique ladies night, stagette or birthday activity.

I have driven down this road countless times but never realized this place existed on West 4th until I had to buy a bouquet of flowers. This is truly a gem in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. The staff was friendly and helpful both at the store and via email. We asked for a special message to accompany the bouquet and the message was written by hand! I was very impressed by that. The staff was very professional and even though we only gave them our budget and requirements, they were able to come up with this beautiful bouquet (see pictures below). The colour combination is so wonderful and cheery (especially given the year we have had). The store inside was so welcoming and feels like a boutique. It’s clean and well organized. We were greeted right away, and you can tell they took full precaution and adhere to COVID-19 protocols. I absolutely love the swinging bench. It was especially inviting, and I wish I could sit in it with a cup of tea and a good book for an afternoon. Overall my experience with Leis de Buds was super positive and after this first bouquet, I’ve have no doubts about their flower selection. I will definitely go back to them for our next bouquet idea.

Nicole and the owner of Leis de Buds (a quick Google search tells me this might be Alyssa?) saved my butt the other day! I mistakenly thought that it wouldn't be a problem to arrange for same-day flower delivery to my mom on her birthday - of course, I've now learned that it's ideally more of a day-before type thing. It was suuuper tight timing and I did not make it easy for Nicole & Alyssa - I was generally a mess! I didn't have a delivery address on me, and I totally expected them to tell me I was out of luck anyway, when I showed up at around 10:30am - but they told me they could JUST fit me in for their deliveries that day, which were going out at 11:00. Alyssa put together a (beautiful!) last-minute bouquet in the Peaches & Dreams style that I had requested - even though I believe they had just phased out that style the previous day. Nicole helped me track down my mom's postal code using her personal cell phone, to figure out the delivery fees. They told me to hurry home, get the address, then call them back with it. They also sold me a beautiful birthday card, and were just so lovely, chill, and helpful throughout the whole experience. Beautiful flowers and beautiful people. Thank you, Leis de Buds!

Alyssa and her team really have a love and passion for what they do and it shows. They are super kind and take a lot of care in the process! This locally owned florist just opened up in my neighbourhood and it is an excellent addition to the stores on 4th here in Kits. On a sunny day the store has a beautiful floral display outside and over the entry way, which sets the tone for the rest of the customer experience. Everything inside the store has an artisan fee to it, with a wide selection of locally sourced or handcrafted goods to compliment their excellent flower choice. My visit to the store was to purchase a gift for Mother’s Day - I ended up getting a hand made vase from an Artist in the UK (see my attached photos). I gave it to my mom early and she loves it! To be honest most items from this store would be a killer Mother’s Day gift, or just an excellent gift in general for your loved ones or someone special. In addition to having a traditional store front, they also have bouquet subscription options so that at your chosen interval you get flowers delivered to your doorstep. I signed up for the once a month 50 package so I can hopefully bring some more color into my apartment. If the quality of goods in store is any indication then I have high hopes for the bouquet subscription service. Highly recommended - made Mother’s Day a big success.
