Good for kids
I decided to arrange a horseback riding experience for my family as part of my wife's birthday surprise. When I contacted Glen Valley Stables, Joanne was so helpful and set us up with everything we needed to know prior to our ride. We arrived at the designated location and were greeted by the staff who were all wonderful. We had our 3 kids with us aged 10, 14 & 17. The 10 year old became nervous when she got on the horse so the guide (Allison), spoke with her and reassured her she was in good hands. For the first part of the ride, the guide tethered the youngest ones horse to hers to make sure she felt safe. Eventually our little one was able to ride on her own and was very happy. The ride was a beautiful experience with well cared for horses. Thank you so much Glen Valley Stables for helping create new memories for our family.

We had a great experience on Sunday Aug 9.2020. Joanne was helpful and prompt when we booked and kept us informed. We were a group of 4, our guide Debbie was great I had 2 that ride regularly and one that has only ridden a few times, Debbie took the time to work with the one less experienced rider to help her feel comfortable and confident. The horses are well cared for and well behaved. We will defiantly go again and recommended them. Thank you Glen Valley Stables for a great day. You made the girls summer memorable.
I have to say Joanne is a very nice lady. But for the horse ride, I have to say it was scary. My son and I are both first riders, I brought him there hoping he could experience the horse riding before he making learning decision. At first everything was all right, unfortunately, just right in the middle of the picture-taking, the horse that my son was riding on began to struggle all in a sudden, then it started to run. Of course without any doubt, my son was threw off by the horse on to the grass. Luckily he didn't hurt. After the ride, the leader said it might probably see coyotes, it was frightened by them... I understand the danger of horse riding. But only one leader in the experiencing team with 3 visitors and 4 horses, it was no way to control. We got luck that two ladies who are horse riders walk on by, they helped, otherwise I can't imagine what would happen next...
This was my first time horse back riding and we made it clear to the guider that it was our first time assuming they would be helpful. I thought there would be proper instructions before our ride but there was nothing like that. When I was unsure what to do the guider and another lady who worked there would yell at me telling me what to do in a very rude way. It would be nice if the guider was understanding that we are not experienced or pros our first time as they are. The horse was calm for the most part. This experience ruined my first time of horse back riding. I will go to another location for my next time as I did not feel comfortable or welcomed at Glen Valley Stables.
My wife and I had an amazing time with Glen Valley Stables. Everyone was wonderful and the horses were well behaved, each with their own unique personality. If you are looking for a great way to spend an hour or two, I recommend giving Glen Valley Stables a call!
